Compared with petrol and diesel cars, electric vehicles usually have lower routine maintenance. There are no oil changes, spark plugs or exhaust systems. Brake wear can also be lower because regenerative braking does much of the slowing down.

Tyres can wear faster because EVs are heavier and have instant torque. Choosing good tyres and driving smoothly can help reduce wear. It is also important to check tyre pressure regularly for efficiency and safety.

For me, the Model Y makes the most sense when home or workplace charging is available. If you rely only on expensive public charging, you should calculate your expected yearly mileage carefully.
